Vane of Barbs is a contemporary spin on Ghandi's view of the human condition through a mesmerising kaleidoscope of live music, performance, and projection this Adelaide Fringe 2015.
The collective of virtuosic young musicians (Kiah Gossner: composer/bass, Ben Todd: drums, Bianca Carbone: vocals, Logan Watt: keys/sounds) interweave a cunning myriad of genres, polyrhythmic melodies and haunting vocals.
Vane of Barbs's artistic vision aims straight and true at the black and white daemons of our technicolor world while exploring our relationship with each other and our place in the world.
Composer and band-leader, Kiah Gossner (Bach. Music), is also a founding member and a composer of the Bearded Gypsy Band (Best Roots Artists - Fowlers Live Music Awards 2013) with whom he has toured extensively both nationally and internationally.
Designing the visual elements of Vane of Barbs is Jill Halliday (NIDA), a seasoned Stage Designer who has designed over 80 professional productions throughout Australia with such companies as the National Theatre Co, the Western Australian Ballet Co and Bell Shakespeare Company. Jill also designed floats and costumes for Adelaide's iconic Christmas pageant for a number of years and has now moved into band management (Nominated Best Music Manager 2013 – Fowlers Live Music Awards)
